Olympus Beekeeping began to operate in 2016 in the production of bee colonies and the collection of bee products, such as honey, pollen, royal jelly and propolis.
The flora of Olympus
On Mount Olympus there are 1700 species and subspecies, representing 25% of the Mediterranean flora. Of these, 187 are classified as important for humans, 56 as endemic and 23 as locally endemic, while 16 of them are classified as rare.
With an intense diversity of relief, different orientation of the slopes, each position in relation to the sea affects the climate in places and results in the prevalence of a microclimate that, combined with the geological background, helps the development of particular types of vegetation and herbs.
